Born in Miami Beach, David Madden is an artist that pays respect to the classics by putting his own distinctive interpretation on them. He is a graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design; has studied art at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach and Art Students League in NYC. David has received awards from National Scholastics, Society of Illustrators, and Ringling School of Art and Design which include the following: Award of Merit, Book Show, and the Best of Show in Ringling's Annual Show. His work has been published in "South Florida Magazine" and "Post-Mortem"(the newspaper for South Beach). "Homage to Spring" is his modern adaptation to a classical image. He pays admiration to Van Gogh through the use of purple and yellow, a trait of Van Gogh. One of Mr. Maddens main challenges is putting his own individual impression on classic images.
David's most recent showing was at the Milk Gallery Art Auction in 2008.
